Create Digital Products Using Canva in 2022

Updated: Apr 6, 2022

Disclosure: Since I share ways to make money with my awesome audience, my content may link to affiliate products that I personally use and love. If you choose to subscribe or purchase through my affiliate links I will earn some money at no additional cost to you.

Reasons to create digital products

  • Simple to create, no graphic design experience is necessary

  • Easy to scale

  • Higher profit margins

  • Little to no upfront costs (no importing, or manufacturing)

  • No inventory

  • No shipping

  • Endless niches to create in

  • Passive income!

Here are some product ideas you can create in Canva (click here for a FREE 30-day pro trial).

For the purpose of this blog post I created each photo in 45 minutes or less using Canva! Some photos used a template and other designs were done from scratch.

1. Printable Wall Art

Do you think you have to have the graphic design experience to create something in Canva? Absolutely not! Take a look at this piece of wall art I typed up in Canva. This design took approximately 15 minutes to create. You could start a business selling unique motivational word definitions. The possibilities are endless, why not niche down and create motivational definitions for female entrepreneurs things as "boss babe" or "miss preneur."

You can put your designs up on Etsy and sell this product as a printable. Or use a print-on-demand service like Printify and have your design available for print-on-demand items like mugs, notebooks, shirts etc.

2. Digital Planners

Go paperless! A movement that has the eco-conscious, tech-savvy generation moving away from paper and towards digital products. With innovative products like Paperlike screen protectors, users have a tactile and more satisfying experience writing, drawing and using their tablets.

With some time and good effort, you can create a digital planner on Canva absolutely free. I suggest opening your creation to PowerPoint and creating hyperlinks for the ultimate user experience.

I will be writing up a step-by-step guide to creating a digital planner in the coming weeks so click here to be notified when that post drops!

3. Instagram Highlight Covers

Gorgeous, gorgeous girls love aesthetic feeds. Take a look at these simple highlight covers I modified from a FREE template on Canva. Simply go to Canva, search "highlight covers" and choose from the thousands of designs they have to offer.

Keep in mind, that if you want to sell highlight cover templates you will have to create the design from scratch. Highlight covers are very small and don't need a ton of design elements making them an easy product to create.

Once, you've designed a template, it is easy to modify fonts and colours using Canva's "styles" function creating all different variations of your original design.

4. Printable Wedding Place Cards

With wedding season coming into full swing, now is the time to start listing your services for digital wedding products.

In under 30 minutes, I created a simple yet elegant table place card ready to be sold to DIY brides around the globe. You could sell something like this as a customizable template or print, package and ship the product yourself. Why not add more value and design an entire invitation, RSVP cards, table cards, advice for the couple cards and thank you card bundle. Then change a few decor elements and create a whole new theme sure to grab another bride's attention!

Tip: Pay attention to trending wedding themes and tailor your designs accordingly!

5. AirBnB Welcome Book

According to statista.com

"In 2017, the number of adults using Airbnb in the United States amounted to 33.9 million, up from 29 million the previous year. This figure is forecast to reach 45.6 million by 2022." (source)

As a rapidly growing industry, it only seems natural that these short-term rental hosts are looking to give their guests the ultimate experience.

Ergo, the Airbnb Welcome Book. An easy-to-design book that can be used as a customizable template to provide hosts with an eye-catching resource to give guide their guests through the rental process, from check-in to check-out.

6. Self Publish Low Content Books

This is one of my favorite things to design in Canva. Low or no content books are journals, logbooks, notebooks or in the photo here an Undated Coloring Planner.

These books can be created solely in Canva and then uploaded to Amazon KDP and sold on amazon.com at NO COST. Once someone purchases your book from Amazon, money roll in! print and ship the book for you and pay you a royalty. Sound simple? It realy is that easy! Once your book is approved you can market your product to your audience and watch the money roll in!

I will be writing up a step-by-step guide on how to create no content books in the coming weeks so click here to be notified when that post drops!

7. Lead Magnets

Lead magnets are free resources that you offer your audience usually in exchange for contact details specifically an email. These resources create warm leads which can create an opportunity to convert your audience to paying customers.

Here are some lead magnets you can create in Canva: step-by-step guides, ebooks, recipe books.

Canva has hundreds of templates available for all different kinds of lead magnets. You can also create your own and sell the templates. You could also list your services as a freelancer on Fiverr and create these lead magnets for businesses.

Tip: Focus on providing high value with your lead magnets. Solve a problem, make the literature simple and easy to navigate and sell your skills!

Theses ideas are just the tip of the iceberg! There are endless amounts of digital products that can be created on Canva and sold for $$$. For best results, niche down and spend the time doing keyword research to identify lucrative opportunities.
